fairPla.net

Die internationale Genossenschaft für Klima, Energie und Entwicklung

History

The cooperative fairPla.net was founded in mid-2006 by several energy and development experts from Germany and abroad. Among them are numerous women and men who, through their voluntary expert support, have made the projects of fairPla.net’s predecessor organizations possible – and have thus advanced the development of the fairPla.net-concept.
The fairPla.net eG received a strong boost in spring 2007, when another 500 co-founders joined the cooperative. Meanwhile, it has grown to more than 760 members from twelve nations on four continents.
Since November 2007, the members have financed 16 photovoltaic power plants in Germany, two biomass village power plants in Bihar, India, various solar projects in the Philippines, a manufacturing firm for biogas systems in Kenya and 200 energy saving stoves in Nigeria.
